Q + A with The Eric and Joe Show
One of our favorite Holiday events around here is The Eric and Joe Before Thanksgiving Show. It’s absolutely hilarious every year and is a real, feel good event that also supports a good cause in the community each year. We thought we’d do a Q & A with Joe Bennett, one of the show’s creators, writers and director. Enjoy.

Q + A with The Eric and Joe Show
LE: How did you all get started on what has turned into such a great event here in Etown: The Eric & Joe Before Thanksgiving Show?
Joe: We are weirdos.
Honestly, we wanted to provide something that would bring people together, make them laugh, and point to the goodness and glory of Jesus. We love doing it. Love it.
LE: How long have you been performing/entertaining in general? How long has the show been going on?
Joe: Eric and I started performing together in high school through Chrysalis, a non-denominational Christian retreat. From those experiences, the show was born. We started the show in 2013 and we are so grateful that people show up!

LE: Describe the process of creating this show. How do you know when a joke will get a laugh?
Joe: We spend an embarrassing amount of time working on this silly show. It's become a year long endeavor. We spend a lot of time listening and writing and working out material together. As for when we know if something will get a laugh...we just hope that what makes us laugh makes others laugh too.
LE: What inspires you all?
Joe: Stuff.
LE: What's the experience like on stage? What makes you want to do this show now for consecutive years?
Joe: There are few things better than working really hard on something, putting it all on stage, and hearing people laugh. We just love doing this show.
LE: What sparked your love to entertain and make people laugh? How did this love of comedy come about?
Joe: Like I said, we are weirdos.
LE: What is it like creating and performing with your friends?
Joe: It is the absolute best. Being able to create and play and goof off with our friends is so much fun. We have so many talented people in our area and watching them perform is super fun.
LE: What has been the highlight of the show so far?
Joe: No one has quit!

LE: How has the community of E'town embraced you all?
Joe: Like a warm cocoon.
LE: What do you love about this town?
Joe: I don't know why everyone doesn't live in E-town. The people are cool. Good food. The Eric and Joe Show is here. Why live anywhere else?
LE: Do you have dreams and visions of expanding the show, or doing another one during the year? Do you have other plans for the future?
Joe: We would love to keep growing this show. It is the best! Let's do it again next year. Also, if someone wants to give us all the money to do more shows we will take it!
